Saltwash® powder is a VOC-free product, and all its ingredients are considered safe in a normal working environment. Safety is our top priority, so we always recommend taking appropriate safety measures. Due to the fine composition of Saltwash® powder, we recommend wearing suitable respiratory and eye protection when mixing and sanding. Saltwash® is manufactured in the USA.
To create the typical Saltwash look for your furniture, follow these steps:
- Mix the Saltwash with a color of your choice, using our wooden spatula is recommended. Add one measuring spoon at a time until the consistency of the paint is very thick, almost pasty.
- Apply the paint to your furniture. If you dab more than stroke, you will achieve a rougher 3D surface.
You can repeat these steps and vary the color tone a little if desired, depending on how many shades you want to use. However, it is not necessary. Let your creativity run wild.
- Once the Saltwash layer is completely dry, you can simply paint over it with a color of your choice.
Important: No Saltwash is added to this layer.
Once this paint layer is dry as well, you can either use a sanding machine or gently sand by hand with sandpaper until you achieve the desired look. There’s no wrong way to do it. You decide when you’re finished.
